The English Learning Group

An English Education Group has been set up by the Friends of Suai and in April 2009 a meeting was held inviting residents of Port Phillip interested in teaching English in Suai to attend. The above photograph was taken of people who attended the meeting with a view to becoming volunteer teachers.

Friends of Suai committee members in the photograph include: Rosemary Patterson, Patsy Thatcher, John Collins, Pat Jessen and Desleigh Kent.

Congratulations. You are now a member of the English learning group. The teachers have not become active yet as they are just learning about the group and how to use the suai media space. The idea is, when you join in a discussion or start one the English teacher will correct your English and write something to you that will keep the discussion going. This means you can click on John's discussion about the new supermarket in Dili or click Start Discussion and begin a new one about a topic of interest to you. There is a new member of suai media space who wants to help you but she hasn't joined the English group yet. It would help if you would invite her to join this Group. Her name is Desleigh Kent.
